Over the course of the next few weeks, Arizona can expect to see hundreds of Afghan refugees settle in our state as a result of the crisis in Afghanistan--many of them resettling in Tucson. Holy Cross Church, and God's people everywhere, have the unique opportunity to show love to our new neighbors as we welcome strangers, sojourners, refugees, immigrants, and exiles among us

We are grateful to partner with Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest to support the men, women, and families in need who are fleeing Afghanistan.  

How you can help:

• GIFT CARDS: The best way to help right now is to donate gift cards to Walmart, Fry's, and Safeway and any item found on the Amazon Wishlist.
• AMAZON WISHLIST ITEMS: Simply go to the Amazon Wishlist, purchase your items (like diapers, sheets and common household items) and when items arrive drop them off at Holy Cross any Sunday in October in the designated bin in the Welcome Area. Holy Cross will then do weekly drop-offs of your items to the LSS-SW office.
• You may also have them directly shipped to the LSS-SW Phoenix office directly from Amazon at: 2502 E. University Dr., Suite #125, Phoenix, AZ 85034.
• NOTES & CARDS: Kids and adults can leave special notes of welcome at Holy Cross and these will be delivered along with donated items. Please keep in mind that most will not speak or read English, therefore consider drawing pictures with simply words that offer welcome and encouragement.
